Garlic Butter Steak Bites Recipe Details

Is there anything better than the aroma of cooking steak? I love the juicy, buttery flavor of these steak bites with their smoky crust, too. This easy recipe makes it so easy to enjoy a steak dinner.

  • TASTE: These steak bites have tons of smoky, herbaceous flavor thanks to the garlic, herbs, and butter. They are full of savory goodness.
  • TEXTURE: These Garlic Butter Steak Bites have a juicy center, but the outsides have an amazing crust from the cast iron it’s cooked in.
  • TIME: This is so easy to make and uses simple ingredients that you probably have on hand.
  • EASE: This recipe takes less than 15 minutes to make so you don’t need a lot of prep time.

What You’ll Need

Pro Tip:Make sure to use tender cuts of steak like ribeye, tenderloin, or T-bone. Chuck will NOT work for this recipe. It will end up too dry and tough.

Recipe Tips

  • Cut the ribeye into similar-sized cubes- This enables the steak to cook at the same speed, evenly and thoroughly.
  • Cook the steak bites in a hot pan- Wait until the pan has started to smoke before adding the oil, then the steak. This will help develop their yummy outer crust.
  • Don’t overcrowd the cast iron pan- If the steak bites are cooked too close together, they will not develop a crust, so cook them in batches if you need to.

Add-ins and Substitutions

  • Substitute different seasonings- If you want to use different herbs or spices, you can use any of your favorites. Try Cajun seasoning, dry rub, or red pepper flakes.
  • Use different cuts of beef- I think ribeye works best in this recipe, but you could use others if you prefer, such as sirloin, New York strip, T-bone, or tenderloin.
  • Add vegetables- Cooked Yukon potatoes, red peppers, or other vegetables can be added during the final basting to make it a full meal.

Avocado oil has the highest melting point at 520 degrees, which makes cooking these steak bites over high heat easier as it won’t smoke up your kitchen.
