The Disneyland Canada Resort (Nicknamed: DCR) is a theme park and vacation resort located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the first Disneyland in Canada. It encompasses four theme parks, 6 Disney-Owned hotels, 2 Non Disney-owned hotels and a shopping and entertainment district.

The resort opened on July 1st, 1991, coincidentally opening on Canada Day. The resort is located on approximately 1600 acres (647 hectares) of land. which is being developed under a master agreement with Canadian governmental authorities.

DCR has quickly become a popular destination for families and Disney fans from all over the world. The four theme parks offer a wide range of attractions, from classic Disney characters to thrilling rides and immersive experiences.

Disneyland Ottawa[]

Like most other Disney Resorts around the world, Disneyland Canada Resort features a flagship park. The park is similar in style to Disney's other Disneyland-style parks, containing traditional and newly created themed lands. One of the aims of the park is the combination of Disney stories and characters with attractions that are themed after the history and beauty of Canada.

Mythica Park[]

Mythica Park, or just Mythica, was the second park to open within the Disneyland Canada Resort. It is a park filled with mythical creatures, ancient legends, and fantastical adventures. Visitors can explore enchanted forests, ride on dragons, and interact with characters from folklore and mythology.

Muppet Studios Canada[]

Muppet Studios Canada was the third park to open at the resort. The park features attractions and shows based on the beloved Muppets characters created by Jim Henson. Visitors can enjoy interactive experiences, live performances, and meet-and-greets with their favorite Muppet characters.

20th Century Studios Park[]

20th Century Studios Park is the most recent park to open at the resort, opening in 2025. This park is dedicated to showcasing the iconic movies and characters from 20th Century Studios, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Visitors can immerse themselves in the worlds of films such as Titanic, Avatar, and X-Men. In addition to rides and attractions, 20th Century Studios Park also features live shows, character meet-and-greets, and themed dining experiences.

Place de la ville de Disney[]

The Place de la ville de Disney (French for Disney Town Square) is the resort's shopping, entertainment and dining district. It is similar to the other shopping districts found in other Disneyland resorts around the world, such as Downtown Disney in California, Disney Springs in Florida and Ikspiari at Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan.

Opening in 2004, the center is themed to resemble a city similar to that of Times Square, Tokyo and Shanghai. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options, from traditional Canadian cuisine to international fare. Entertainment options include live performances featuring Canadian artists and characters, as well as interactive experiences for guests of all ages.

  • Dave & Buster's: An arcade and party restaurant chain where you play and have birthday parties.
  • Le Château: A fine dining restaurant serving French cuisine with a Disney twist, located in a beautiful castle setting.
  • Tiana's Palace: A restaurant serving New Orleans cuisine themed to the restaurant from the 2009 Disney animated movie "The Princess and The Frog."
  • Walter & Fozzie Bear's Worldwide Bistro: A restaurant serving international foods themed to Disney's "The Muppets" franchise, and the two characters, Walter and Fozzie Bear.
  • Pixar Parlor Palace: A restaurant offering treats and entrees from the Pixar Animation Studios.
  • Din Tai Fung: A Taiwanese restaurant specializing in Chinese cuisine.
  • Starbuck Lounge: A relocation of the former "Starbucks North" venue, the Starbucks Lounge will offer a more upscale and relaxing atmosphere for guests to enjoy their favorite coffee beverages.

  • Big Al's: A western themed store named after the titular bear character from the Country Bear Jamboree attraction. Here, guests can find a variety of western-themed merchandise such as cowboy hats, bandanas, and souvenirs inspired by the Wild West.
  • World of Disney: A large store featuring all kinds of Disney merchandise, from clothing to toys to home decor.
  • Goofy's Gadgets: A store filled with quirky gadgets and gizmos, perfect for kids and adults alike.
  • Lee Family's Temple: a store themed to the Disney•Pixar film Turning Red. Visitors can find a variety of items such as plush toys, clothing, accessories, and more featuring characters from the movie.
  • Goofy's Candy Co.: A candy store filled with candies and treats, perfect fro kids and adults alike, based on Goofy from "Mickey & Friends".
  • Lillian's: A boutique located in the Place de la ville de Disney, named after Walt Disney's wife, Lillian Disney. This upscale shop offers a curated selection of high-end fashion, accessories, and home decor inspired by classic Disney characters and themes.
  • Star Wars Trading Post: where fans can find all the latest merchandise and collectibles from a galaxy far, far away.

Never Built Venues[]

  • Pokémart: Pokémart was originally planned to be a unique shopping experience within Place de la ville de Disney, offering exclusive Pokémon merchandise and interactive activities for fans of the franchise. However, due to licensing issues and logistical challenges, the concept was ultimately scrapped before construction began.
  • DisneyQuest: DisneyQuest was originally planned to be a virtual reality and interactive entertainment center within the Disneyland Canada Resort. However, due to budget constraints and changing trends in entertainment, the project was ultimately scrapped before construction began. The space that was designated for DisneyQuest was later repurposed into Tiana's Palace and Marvel HQ

Future Venues[]

  • Untitled "Journey Into Imagination" themed store: This new store will be a whimsical and interactive experience for guests, inspired by the beloved Epcot attraction "Journey Into Imagination."
  • Mickey's Birthday Bash!: Opening in 2028, the 100th anniversary of Mickey Mouse's first appearance in "Steamboat Willie," this interactive experience will allow guests to enter Mickey's world. After the birthday, the venue will be retrofitted to become a year-round celebration of all things Mickey Mouse.

  • Disneyland Hotel - The flagship hotel of the DCR, offering luxurious accommodations and a magical Disney experience. Guests can enjoy themed rooms, character dining experiences, and exclusive access to the parks.
  • Tinseltown Hotel - The Tinseltown Hotel is a hotel themed after classic Hollywood glamour. The hotel features luxurious accommodations, elegant decor, and a touch of old-world charm. The rooms are elegantly decorated with vintage furnishings and luxurious amenities.
  • Olympus Hotel - The Olympus Hotel is a luxurious accommodation option within the Disneyland Canada Resort. Inspired by Greek mythology, the hotel features lavish suites with views of the surrounding parks, themed restaurants serving delicious cuisine, and a spa offering relaxing treatments. Guests can also enjoy exclusive access to special events and character meet-and-greets within the hotel.
  • Krustyland Hotel - (Stylized as KrustyDisneyland Hotel) Inspired by the Simpsons character Krusty the Clown, this hotel was built next to the 20th Century Studios Park and opened in 2025. The Krustyland Hotel features themed rooms and suites decorated with iconic elements from the TV show. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a Krusty Burger room service menu, a Duff Beer bar, and even meet-and-greets with characters like Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The hotel also offers exclusive access to special events and experiences within 20th Century Studios Park.
  • Camp Wilderness - A rustic and immersive camping experience for guests looking to connect with nature. The hotel is similar to Fort Wilderness at Walt Disney World in Florida, offering a range of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and campfire sing-alongs. The cabins are cozy and comfortable, perfect for families or groups looking for a unique lodging experience.
  • Grand Canadian Hotel - A luxurious hotel inspired by the grandeur of Canada's historic railway hotels. Guests can enjoy elegant rooms, fine dining restaurants, and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The hotel also features a spa, fitness center, and indoor pool for relaxation and recreation.

The resort also has two Non-Disney owned hotels on property. Both are owned and operated by Hilton Hotels and Marriott International.

Agricultural Division[]

The resort features a unique agricultural division where visitors can learn about sustainable farming practices and see firsthand how food is grown and harvested. The agricultural division at DCR also includes interactive exhibits and workshops on topics such as beekeeping, organic gardening, and composting. In addition to educational opportunities, the agricultural division at DCR also serves as a showcase for Canadian agriculture. Local farmers and producers are invited to sell their products at the resort, giving guests the chance to sample fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy products from the region.

Environmental Sustainability[]

The park has implemented various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and promote conservation efforts. This includes using renewable energy sources, implementing recycling programs, and reducing water consumption. Additionally, the resort has incorporated green building practices in the construction of new facilities and attractions. Since 2019, plastic straws and bags have been replaced by paper equivalents and bags made from 80% recycled plastic. This is not the site's first eco-responsible initiative.

In 2013, the Disneyland Canada Resort has also partnered with local environmental organizations to support wildlife conservation and habitat restoration projects in the surrounding area. In 2023, the resort announced that a total of 82,000 solar panels would be installed, generating 36 GWh of electricity per year.
